T he Grade 9s will attend camps throughout the year in preparation for the end-of-year programme. They will be asked to research and design, plan and collect resources and ultimately assemble a given project for Table Farm. This will test their ability to think on their feet, to delegate, to work together, harnessing each individual’s talents and abilities for the betterment of the group as a whole. They will need to make decisions under physical duress, they will need to learn problem-solving, bushcraft techniques, and do some menial tasks to test their patience. All the while they will be assessed by staff, individually and as a group, to determine their strongest character traits, their style of leadership, and their tolerance of others while being out of their comfort zone. They will explore trails, learn about navigation and perfect their culinary skills with nothing more than a rocket stove and a few choice cans of food.
