St Andrew’s boys recently handed over sanitary pads to Nombulelo Matric girls. Stuart Christie highlighted the depth of the relationship between the 2 schools: “We would like to show you the young women of our community our support and care for you as your brothers,”

Last week College boys went to Nombulelo Senior School in Makhanda to present sanitary pads to the Matric girls. Stuart Christie said that what moved the team to raise funds was evidence from Stellenbosch Law Clinic which stated 30% of SA girls miss school when menstruating.

Mullins House opened its doors in February 1921 wi

Mullins House opened its doors in February 1921 with Arthur ‘Foxy’ Knowling as Housemaster. The launch of the Mullins House Centenary year took place early this morning.

The staff and boys rose at dawn to gather in prayer and raise the Centenary Flag to commemorate this auspicious occasion. Part of the ceremony was a reflection on the history and memories contained within the walls of Mullins House, the masters who shaped it and the Old Andreans who resided there and made it their home.

Each House put their best athletes forward for the annual Pancake Relay Race, held over an obstacle course around Lower Field this afternoon
.
The event took place to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent. Lent is the season in the church's calendar for a time of fasting, reflection and repentance.

The object of the relay race is to run with a pancake in a pan along the obstacle course, while flipping the pancake at a point along the course, before handing over to the next runner.
