Exhilarating Hockey vs Hudson Park and Graeme College

Last week, our hockey club hosted exhilarating matches against Hudson Park and Graeme College despite facing cold and wet conditions. Despite the weather, all teams exhibited exceptional hockey skills and demonstrated commendable sportsmanship. Huge applause to all the players for their efforts, and a special thank you to the brave souls who endured the chilly weather to support their teams.

Here are the results:

  • St Andrew’s College Under 14A triumphed 3-0 against Graeme College Under 14.
  • St Andrew’s College Under 14B held a 0-0 draw against Hudson Park Under 14.
  • St Andrew’s College Under 16A also settled for a 0-0 draw against Hudson Park Under 16A.
  • St Andrew’s College Under 16B secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Hudson Park Under 16B.
  • St Andrew’s College Under 16C unfortunately fell short with a 0-4 loss against Graeme College Under 16A.

  • St Andrew’s College 2nds emerged victorious with a solid 2-0 win against Graeme College 1sts.

First XI Match Recap:

The first team’s encounter with Hudson Park kicked off with a slow start as our team reacquainted themselves with the game rhythm after the extended holiday break. In the initial stages, both teams had their chances, but excellent saves from the goalkeepers kept the scoreline level at halftime. As the game progressed, the St Andrew’s College team steadily raised the intensity and pace, eventually breaking the deadlock with a goal from a short corner courtesy of Thando Wopula. Two more goals followed in the final quarter, sealing a well-deserved 3-0 triumph for St Andrew’s College.
