U16 Basketball National Championships

Seven boys from St Andrew’s College, which included newly joined student Laird Lombard, recently represented the U16 Eastern Cape basketball team at the National Championships held in Durban. The Head Coach of the team was St Andrew’s College coach, Bongo Seteni.

While the results of the U16 Eastern Cape team may not have been as desired, the boys gained invaluable experience and developed crucial skills during their participation in the National Championship. The exposure to high-level competition and the opportunity to showcase their talents on a national platform will undoubtedly contribute to their growth and improvement as basketball players.

Congratulations to all the boys who participated in the U16 Eastern Cape National Championship. The experience gained at the tournament will undoubtedly benefit their future endeavors in basketball and beyond.

Noteworthy is the outstanding performance of Caleb Pennington, who was honoured with an All-Star award at the tournament. Caleb’s exceptional skills and dedication have earned him a well-deserved spot on the South African U16 team, bringing pride and recognition to St Andrew’s College.
