St Andrew’s College IEB Matric Results 2023

The 2023 St Andrew’s College Matrics who wrote the IEB National Senior Certificate examinations achieved a 99% pass rate, with 95% of the 87 boys achieving a Bachelor’s Degree (BD) pass.
The Dux Scholar was Thomas Barrow, from Johannesburg, who achieved an 88% aggregate, and eight distinctions.
Thomas was placed on the IEB’s Commendable Achievement list for achieving within the top 5% in five subjects and achieving a rating level of 7 for Life Orientation.
Three St Andrew’s College boys achieved seven distinctions:
Matthew Poole, from Kenton-On-Sea, achieved an 88% aggregate.
Matthew Gouws, from Johannesburg, achieved an aggregate of 86%.
Noah Da Motta, from Lusaka, Zambia, achieved an 84% aggregate.
Six distinctions were achieved by two College boys:
David Ball (Knysna) achieved an 83% aggregate.
Gregory Miller (Johannesburg) also achieved an 83% aggregate.
Five College boys achieved five distinctions:
Finley Carson (Nairobi, Kenya) with an aggregate of 86%.
Sinjhun Cawse (Cape Town), the 2023 Head Boy, with an aggregate of 83%.
Charlie Beaton (Masai Mara, Kenya) with an aggregate of 82%.
Ross Gordon (Johannesburg) with an aggregate of 82%.
Michael Petersen (Johannesburg) with an aggregate of 81%.
 
Achieving four distinctions were Luke Freimond from Johannesburg, Mumbi Kayula from East London, local boy from Makhanda, Ian Meihuizen, Joey Rugemalira from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, and Dylan Voogt from Somerset West.
In addition, four St Andrew’s College boys were placed in the top 1% nationally in their subjects:
Charlie Beaton (Geography)
Ross Gordon (History)
Ian Meihuizen (History)
Thomas Badenhorst (Mathematical Literacy)

These wonderful results are testament to the extraordinary efforts of all the boys and girls of St Andrew’s College and the Diocesan School for Girls and the exceptional work and dedication of the staffs of both schools.
