The St Andrew’s College 1st XI bravely chose to bat first on Saturday morning in fresh bowling conditions versus an accomplished Graeme College bowling attack.
SA U19 left-arm quick, Aphiwe Mnyanda bowled superbly with swing and pace. He was accurately supported by fellow opening bowler Marcus Williams. The opening pair reduced College to 56/5 producing technique testing deliveries.
College stayed in the fight, and through the efforts of Sibusiso Mxube and Myles Sansom, College managed to navigate their way through the vulnerable period posting a very competitive 239 total in their 50 overs.
College’s left-arm swing opening bowler, Joe Wostenholm was up for the afternoon task, and in the end, College were comfortable winners by 111 runs, but the margin of victory was not a true reflection of what was a very tight contest.
Thanks very much to Grame College for their hospitality on another superb day on their campus.
