The College Senior Rugby Sevens Tournament at Nico MalanSep 4, 2023
It is with great joy that St Andrew’s College welcomes Mrs Shirley Ramsugit and her husband Raam to the Andrean family. Shirley joins us at the new Mathematical Literacy teacher. They have three wonderful children that are pursuing different careers in the Engineering and Education field.
Shirley has lived in KwaZulu-Natal for most of her life and was born in the coastal town of Umkomaas where she matriculated and settled in the beautiful seaside resort of Park Rynie after marriage.
Shirley completed her ICDL at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) and worked in industry for a year before deciding that her passion lay in teaching. After completing her NPDE (cum laude), she studied for the ACE in Mathematics Education. Mrs Ramsugit started her teaching career at Scottburgh High School, and since then has been fortunate to teach at two secondary schools, the last being at the Deutsche Internationale Schule in Johannesburg, where she taught Informatics, Technology, Mathematics and Maths Literacy from Grade 8 to 12.
In her free time, she enjoys swimming, body boarding, knitting, crochet, baking and reading. Her most outstanding accomplishment was completing the Midmar Mile swim seven times.
