Over the last four days of the August holiday, rowers from across all age groups returned to campus to begin preparations for the upcoming season.
For the first time in over a generation of College boys, the whole club from Opens to Juniors was able to use our excellent facilities at Settlers Dam in the Thomas Baines Nature Reserve, which is only a few minutes’ drive from campus and where our crews are overlooked by wildlife including fish eagles, kudu and the occasional otter.
Over the four days of camp, the cobwebs were blown off literally and figuratively on the water and in the ergo room and some exciting prospects have started to emerge ahead of our first competitive fixtures.
The College Rowing Club is also pleased to welcome back DSG into the boat shed as they take their first steps in reintroducing the sport and fielding crews in the upcoming season.
Well done to all the boys who took part, and they should be commended on showing great commitment in returning early from their holidays. Thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to assist with the camp!
