Rugby vs Hudson Park and Mary Waters

On Saturday 20 May we hosted Hudson Park from East London. It was great getting this fixture back on the schedule and both schools benefitted from this.

Our U14s continue with their growth and each week we see improvements. The U15As put in a really exciting performance on Lower, impressing all the supporters. Joshua van Zyl, Adam Ball and Qhawe Madikizela put in particularly good performances and the team is starting to show their potential. The U16s have been unlucky this year with some tight games going against them. They didn’t allow this to happen in this game and managed a good 34 – 26 win. Two tries coming from Luca Nigrini and 14 points from the accurate boot of Oliver Johns.

The 3rds had a good win and are back to their winning ways again. The 2nd XV had another good showing winning their game 62 - 14. Scott Miles had a very good debut, scoring 17 points on the day.

The 1st XV had a tough 1st half and the score at half time was 10 – 12 in favour of Hudson. The team came out in the 2nd half with renewed energy and played some good open rugby. The final score was 41 – 19. A hattrick from Oliver Snart in his fullback debut and some solid contributions from Jacques Cloete, Daniel Hickey, and Jason Dovey.

On Wednesday 24 May we hosted Mary Waters at College. The U16Bs went down 7 – 26 to Mary Waters As and our 4ths had a great win against Mary Waters 1st XV.

Our junior A teams travelled to Cambridge on Wednesday. The teams did well, the U14As won 15 – 12. The U15As won 38 – 5 and the U16As won 42 – 17. It is not an easy trip and the boys did well to come away with the 3 wins.

On Saturday 27 May  our 5ths went across to Kingswood to play against their 3rds. As always it was an entertaining game and our boys managed to win this 15 – 12.
