On Tuesday the St Andrew’s College/DSG College Chamber Choir travelled to Uitenhage to participate in the Eastern Cape regional round of the ATKV Applous Choir Competition. The standard of choral singing was very high, and our Chamber Choir wowed the audience and the judges, receiving rousing applause and a Gold Award.
Mr Kutlwano Kepadisa, director of the Chamber Choir, writes further:
Pupils in the St Andrew’s College/DSG Chamber Choir are bursting with pride and beaming with the joy after receiving Gold in the prestigious Mixed Category section of the ATKV Applous Competition. I am overjoyed, grateful and a proud teacher saluting them for their commitment, dedication, grit and resilience. A 22-piece senior school choir is a delicate instrument, in which everyone needs to be correct all the time. And they continue to consistently rise to occasion. This is an affirmation the team so needed following last year’s success. They have done the work and now reap the benefits with appreciation, joy and fellowship.
I am filled with gratitude and love for the way in this groups adds meaning to my life.
Now we wait to hear if we made it to the Final National round, but whether or not we make it, they are all winners in my heart.
