In a heartwarming display of community engagement, a group of enthusiastic Mullins boys organized a captivating and educational fun day that not only entertained their peers from Eluxolweni but also imparted crucial life skills. The day started off with a series of games organised by the boys, the activities sparked laughter and friendly competition. Following the games, the focus shifted to essential camping skills, the boys demonstrated step-by-step instructions on setting up tents. They carefully explained the process, highlighting important factors such as tent stability, securing pegs, and rain protection.
Next, the young organizers turned their attention to teaching the proper usage of camping gas stoves. Understanding the importance of safety in such scenarios, the boys meticulously demonstrated how to assemble and operate the stoves, emphasizing precautions to prevent accidents. Participants eagerly absorbed the information, realizing the significance of adhering to safety protocols when utilizing portable cooking equipment.
Perhaps the most vital aspect of the day was the boys' introduction to basic first aid. Supervised by adult volunteers with first aid training, the group of first aiders familiarized participants with fundamental emergency response techniques. Participants learned how to handle common injuries, such as cuts, bruises, and sprains.
The day was concluded with a braai and new friendships.
