Service of Thanksgiving and Appreciation in honour of our retiring Bishop

On Thursday evening, our family of Anglican Schools here in Makhanda – St Andrew’s College, the DSG, St Andrew’s Prep and Good Shepherd School – held a Service of Thanksgiving and Appreciation in honour of our retiring Visitor, the Bishop of Grahamstown, the Right Reverend Bishop Ebenezer Ntlali. It was a joyful occasion, rightfully recognizing the huge role that Bishop Ebenezer has played in supporting and protecting our schools over the past 15 years.

Bishop Ebenezer is the 15th Bishop of Grahamstown, walking in the shoes of Bishop John Armstrong who founded St Andrew’s College, Bishop Nathaniel Merriman who founded the DSG, and in the more recent shoes of his immediate predecessor, the Archbishop of Cape Town, Thabo Makgoba. Each of those church leaders have had a profound impact on society and in many ways, that impact was achieved through education.
