Library monitors outing

The Library monitors gathered together for a special dinner at The Highlander to celebrate a very successful year despite the many difficulties that they were faced with. Mrs Jamieson told the boys that she was very proud of the way they had maintained an excellent standard of work during her absence. The boys ensured that the library remained a safe haven for many boys at St Andrew’s College.

Liam McNaughton, John Marshall, Ayomideji Israel-Akinbo and Ishan Panchal thanked the three staff members, Mrs Jamieson, Ms Libi and Mrs Webb for the work they have done this year to ensure that the library remained an inviting and attractive space for the boys to visit. They also encouraged the remaining team to continue the commitment of serving their school through the library. It was heartwarming to listen to them share their experiences over the last five years of service in the library.

Elijah Sejjaaka also took the platform to thank the outgoing leaders and assured them that the excellent standard of work that they have created during their years at College, is maintained.

The boys enjoyed a scrumptious meal and fun was had by all.

With full tummies and happy photos taken, this amazing group of young men departed after celebrating their mutual successes and love of the Cawse library five years after its major renovations.

Movie night with Nombulelo ‘Lit’ Reading Club

“The book is a film that takes place in the mind of the reader.

That’s why we go to movies and say, “Oh, the book is better.”

― Paulo Coelho

The St Andrew’s College Reading & Watching club held a movie night in the SAC Auditorium for the Nombulelo High School pupils belonging to the Lit Reading Club. They were entertained by the movie, ‘The Giver’ based on the book by Lois Lowry. The College book club had previously read this novel. All members of the Lit Book Club were awarded certificates of participation as an acknowledgment of their 3 years of hard work and contribution to the club.

The members of the Reading and Watching Club, Liam McNaughton and John Marshall received an honorable mention for the 5 years of their excellent service to the Cawse Library and received certificates in acknowledgement.

It was a fulfilling experience for all those present after which they enjoyed pizza to top off a most enjoyable night.

A huge to thank you to Liam McNaughton and John Marshall together with the library staff for the organization and planning of the event. Hopefully there will be more such events in the future.

The Cawse Library salutes John and Liam in honour of the many hours and dedication that they put into the Cawse Library during their years at St Andrew’s College.
