Debating society was represented by one junior team and two senior teams at Queen College this past weekend. The junior motion was “This house regret the rise of citizen journalism”, with the SAC team in opposition. Although the best speaker was awarded to, one of our own, Marcel Llewellyn, the overall debate was awarded to side proposition, Queens College.
The seniors’ motion was “This house believes that the #men are trash movement has done more harm than good”. SAC 1sts were in proposition while SAC 2nds were in opposition, SAC 1 won and SAC 2 unfortunately lost.
Queens College proved to be outstanding opponents. We congratulate College on the one out of three wins.
The debate team has enjoyed the travelling to surrounding areas in the several derbies, but there is still much competition left in the Rini Debate League and K-day coming up. I ask that they avail themselves for these competitions and continue making us proud.
