St Andrew’s College rugby vs Selborne College

The St Andrew’s College 1st XV found themselves right in the game against Selborne College at half-time in East London on Saturday, with the score 24-17 in favour of the home team.
A well-worked try to Zac Landsman after an early try to Selborne College had levelled the scores at 7-7 after just 10 minutes of the game. A further two tries to Selborne, and a penalty to St Andrew’s by Daniel Hickey saw the visitors down 24-10 before they bounced back with a penalty try at the end of the first half, leaving everything to play for.
Unfortunately, it was not to be, and despite huge pressure being exerted by St Andrew’s, the Selborne defence held firm in the second half. After a mistake from the St Andrew’s XV it was Selborne who ultimately closed out the game 31-17 with another well-worked try for the only points of the second half. It was a spirited and gutsy performance from the St Andrew’s 1st XV but they did not manage to convert the opportunities that they created for themselves.
