2021 Old Andrean Tide

The 2021 Old Andrean Tide took place on Saturday, 20 November 2021. This event was live-streamed (https://youtu.be/RsSfaFyt10M), and guests were limited.

This significant event honours Old Andreans who passed away during the year and those who sacrificed their lives in the wars. 2021 also marks the centenary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Clock Tower.

The service was led by the College Chaplain, Reverend Richard Wyngaard, who delivered a moving sermon on the significance of the OA Tide.

Old Andrean Club President, Dr Marguerite Poland, gave an enthralling address in which she outlined the history of the Clock Tower and its symbolism.

The solemn parade to the Clock Tower and the ceremony was undertaken by Marguerite Poland, Mila Mafanya, the Head of School, Nicholas Lane, Headmaster Alan Thompson and the Chaplain, Rev Richard Wyngaard. The Drill Squad (formerly Cadet Corps) and the Pipe Band performed their duties with pride and distinction.

The experience of Old Andrean Tide is one of deep emotion and gratitude. It is a time for the Andrean community to give thanks for our history and traditions and honour those who have gone before us. We would like to thank all those who contributed to this special occasion, especially Dr Marguerite Poland and Mr Mila Mafanya, for their commitment to the school and the Andrean community.
