Ethan John performed community service during the recent half-term break at the Walmer Angel Project, which collects donations, of all forms, for those in the Walmer community, Gqeberha. The “Shine” project is an initiative to promote reading and a library facility for the community’s junior school.
Below is a comment from Pat Hibbert of the Project – Shine:
What a blessing Ethan John was these past three days! Checking 576 SHINE games, sorting and classifying hundreds of Paired reading books, sorting and phase grouping ten boxes of donated children’s books from Liz Rhodes at Clarendon Park Primary School. He also connected with the grade 3 group to read to a class at the end of the day! A remarkable young man from St Andrew’s College in Makhanda. He is a Grade 11 learner and has now qualified with enough Community service hours to complete his Gold Duke of Edinburgh challenge! Well done, Ethan! A remarkable, respectable and intuitive leader – every success for your future.
