The Grade 12 Geography classes went on a field trip to Grey Dam (situated along the outskirts of Makhanda (Grahamstown) earlier this week. The Geographers had to explore the area and capture photographs depicting the various fluvial features that were covered in class. Features such as a tributary, meander, marsh,
temporary base level, knickpoint and a small waterfall were photographed. It was a wonderful opportunity to investigate the environment and to be out of the classroom.
The area was also recently engulfed by a fire, and they were able to see the impacts of the fire on the vegetation and surrounding area.
