This past weekend the members of the Surfing Club made their first trip to the coast to find waves. Historically, we have always found the set up at Cape St Francis to suit the needs of the club best (a tailored surf camp, with dedicated guides, comfortable accommodation, and excellent food), but current times have dictated that we find more uncrowded spots to surf. Through the reconnaissance work of Mr Reece Buchan, we found a close point break which, for this weekend, absolutely fired. Boys on the Saturday and Sunday trips were treated to fun, fast waves which tested all their abilities and resulted in hours of surfing and much contentment. My sincere thanks to the boys for being so enthusiastic and helpful over the weekend away and to Mr Buchan, Mr Wanda Duda and Mr Wouter Van der Walt (from the DSG) for the role they played in making the trips so successful.
