As part of the Mandela Day celebrations St Andrew’s College Community Engagement provided sandwiches to the vulnerable and homeless members of our community. St Andrew’s boys spent time this week making sandwiches and putting together food packs. This is an ongoing project which St Andrew’s has supported since the beginning of lockdown. The St Andrew’s College Dining Hall also generously provided more sandwiches. A little act of kindness goes a long way. St Andrew’s staff handed over the sandwich and food packs during the weekend.
The College boys also donated food parcels to Good Shepherd School, with the funds that they raised from this year’s G-Town Funk event. The learners from Good Shepherd usually visit College for Monday Clubs and Academic Extensions on Fridays. St Andrew’s College staff joined in on the initiative by donating items or funds to support our family of schools during this difficult time. Good Shepherd School is situated at the site where St Andrew’s College boys first attended classes.
Food parcels were also delivered to the Lulama Maseti Covid-19 Soup Kitchen on Sunday.
