The St Andrew’s College Rugby Club players took part in a Push-Up Challenge this weekend, where they competed for individual bragging rights as well as an inter-team competition.
In total, the boys who participated, throughout the age groups, completed 56 212 push-ups in 60 minutes.
The challenge was to perform as many push-ups as possible between 10am and 11am. It was decided not to allow pre-recorded or late entries, this was done to encourage the boys to work together at the same time.
The challenge was monitored by their coaches through Zoom meetings, WhatsApp chats and WhatsApp video calls. It was amazing to see the collective global effort. Some of the boys had brothers and Dads doing the push-ups with them.
The results were as follows:
1. 1st XV 9445 push-ups
2. 2nd Wild dogs 9188
3. U14As 8889
1. Joel Vides 1081 push-ups
2. Murray Wilson 1015
3. Heini van Deventer 910
Total push-ups from all the boys who participated throughout the age groups – 56 212 in 60 minutes.
