We wish past St Andrew’s parents, Sally and Colin Price-Smith well as they run the Two Oceans distances (56km and 21km respectively) around their garden this Saturday, and for a good cause too.

Happening in Makhanda, written by Colin Price-Smith:

As a friend of mine recently and correctly pointed out Sally and I are doing something nuts!!! That is this Sat 11th April, on the day we were supposed to run the 2Oceans Ultra marathon in Cape Town. Given that it has been cancelled, like some many other sports and social events, due to the pandemic that is affecting us all, we have decided to do our own run as per the posted message below on our charitable website …

“On 11th April Sally and I are going to run our own 2Streets Ultra Marathon (56km and 21.1 km respectively) the most beautiful in Makana (233 and 85 laps In our garden/driveway) as the 2Oceans Marathon has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown. Please support our efforts by making a donation or pledge as all proceeds will go directly towards supporting our very special Makana community.

Currently we are focussing on face masks for all 56000 residents in Makana and feeding the most vulnerable. We hope to live stream some/most of the “event” that starts at 6am South Africa time (5am UK), and encourage others to take on their own challenges also.  You can donate via our GivenGain webpage below or directly via the Grahamstown Residents’ Association Standard bank account using the reference 56K – Your Surname.

Thanks in advance for your generous sponsorship, all funds raised will go directly to support the local community via volunteer efforts.

Join us in principle with your own challenge or watch out for our live streaming.
