Encouragement from Father David

When growing up, my dad would often use this declaration from the Psalms, ‘This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.’ (Psalm 118:24 NKJV). He would declare this no matter what happened in the day, no matter what lay before him, or us, as a family. He would teach me, by declaring these words,  that we are making a choice, every moment of every day, to praise the Lord, to give thanks in everything, and to see Jesus as Lord over everything and in everything. This is not an easy thing to do, but having applied it, over many years, I can testify, that your outlook on life becomes a positive outlook; you begin to develop the Lord’s perspective in everything; and you find a deep joy, that does not depend on circumstances or my feelings, but on the knowledge that the Lord is in control and that He is eternally good.

Commit to make this declaration today and every day and see how the Lord Jesus works a positive change in you. Here are some verses to reflect on, as you make this declaration today:

28 You are my God, and I will praise you; you are my God, and I will exalt you.29 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Psalms 118:28-29)

3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! 4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. (Deuteronomy 32:3-4)

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalms 100:4-5)

This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

I believe, as we praise the Lord, even in these current circumstances, we will see the Lord do great things. Praise releases the Lord to work powerfully by His Spirit. The song lyrics of the worship song, ‘See a victory’ describes this truth so powerfully:The weapon may be formed, but it won’t prosper. When the darkness falls, it won’t prevail; ‘Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph. My God will never fail… I’m gonna see a victory, for the battle belongs to You, Lord…There’s power in the mighty name of Jesus. Every war He wages He will win… Gonna worship my way through this battle. Gonna worship my way through, hey…’

 Have a wonderful day.
