Rugby vs Framesby

On Saturday we hosted Framesby from Port Elizabeth. It was our first home game and the boys were keen for the challenge.

Our U14s put up an excellent fight and lost narrowly 24 -25 and 10-17. The U15 games were just as close with the As going down 26-31 and the B team 15-17. The close scores continued with our U16 age group teams with our Bs winning 17-7 and our Hawks winning 26-25 right at the end of the game.

Our senior teams also competed well with wins for our 4ths (31-12) and 3rds (33-24). The 2nd team were unlucky to lose 26-28 after playing some entertaining rugby.

The main game was never going to be an easy game to call, and so it proved on Saturday as the St Andrew’s College 1st XV got their season under way with a tight 15-12 win against a motivated and solid Framesby team at the Graeme College Rugby Day.

Our boys went into half time 3-0 up after a penalty from Sinjin Broad. We probably should have utilised the wind more and had more of a lead, but Framesby were a determined opponent. We managed to score 2 more tries through Sam Francis and Joel Vides, and won the close encounter 15-12.

All the games were close and competitive. Well done to the boys and their coaching staff for their efforts on the day.
