News from the John Jones Fish River Journey

With less than one week left of The Journey, the groups are moving along at a good pace and are getting to their campsites in good time. Group Leaders have wisely opted to start their activities very early, getting up as early as 04h00 in order to avoid the hottest part of the day. The boys and girls have responded well to the challenges. The Solo Site exercise proved to be successful with all getting a chance to relax and reflect. The Rest & Create days were also successful with everyone enjoying a day without having to pack up their stuff and move on. This, coupled with making very tasty potjies consisting of venison, chicken, vegetarian, beef and mutton, doing some henna tattoos and a Group banner, ensured that there was something for everyone to enjoy. The Community Service activities have gone well with Group 5 due to do theirs at the end of the week in Riebeek East.
