The OA Tide Memorial Service took place at the Chapel, as part of the Old Andrean (OA) Tide Reunion weekend. The service is a time to remember Old Andreans who have passed and to remember our founder Bishop John Armstrong. After the service the Headmaster laid a wreath on the Founders grave. The President of the OA Club and the Head of School lay wreaths at the Clock Tower.
The OA Tide ceremony, a poignant event on the College calendar, provides an opportunity for our community to remember and honour those Old Andreans who have passed away during the year. It is held over the weekend when our 50- and 60-year leavers return to College, thereby providing a solemn yet joyful occasion of deep tradition and nostalgia.
This past weekend we were delighted to host so many of the 1959 and 1969 leavers on campus, many of whom travelled long distances to participate in this momentous occasion.
