Christmas in November for Eluxolweni

The Interact Club boys closed the year with the Santa Shoebox project “Christmas in November”. The boys collected shoe boxes which were then filled with basic school stationery and tasty treats. These were presented to the Eluxolweni Children’s Home. The shoe boxes were handed over on Tuesday 12th November 2019 by the Interact leaders. Mr Aidan Smith, Mrs Vuyokazi Jamieson, Mr Lewis Manthantha, Ms Ntombekhaya Libi, Ms Ncumisa Mzaza and Mr Gift Nkosi accompanied the boys.

The boys raised the necessary funds by holding a civvies day. Pick n Pay sponsored R300 which the boys used to purchase gifts for the care givers of the Eluxolweni Centre.  This was the most rewarding experience for all of us and it made us proud that we were able to contribute to brightening up their day. The Eluxolweni Children’s Home thanked us by entertaining us with a musical interlude. Fun was had by all.

A special thank you to Mr van Bergen’s class who helped with packing of the shoe boxes and to Ms Libi who led the covering of the boxes together with Red Alert team.
