Inter-House Art 2019

During the course of June and July this year, 10 pupils from every House visited the new Cornish Visual Arts Centre and created a piece of artwork for the annual Inter-House Art Competition. This year was also the first year that St Andrew’s College and DSG held the competition together and most agree that this aided in upping the ante with regards to the standard of work that was produced, as well as the enthusiasm generated towards this event.

A maximum of ten of the best artworks were selected to represent each House at the exhibition. This meant that in some cases some Houses only had two or three artworks on display as the pupils from these Houses did not manage to complete their submissions in time for the event.

The actual exhibition was held during the John Axe Arts Week on Tuesday 17 September in the Cawse Library foyer. The event, which included a Poetry reading and a wonderful performance by our Chamber Choir, was extremely well-attended.

Our thanks to Ms Renay Bellingham who was the adjudicator this year as well as the Cultural prefects from both schools, Mr Brown, Mrs Norton, Mr Renard, Ms Sullivan, SAC Catering, SAC Maintenance and Mr Heynsen who helped to make this a successful and magical experience.

 The results are as follows:
