Eastern Cape Short Course Gala

On Saturday the 20th of July, Ethan and Haydn John, Scott Ritchie, Cameron Rafferty, Oliva Lange, Joss Hempel and Martin Wolmarans swam in the Eastern Cape Short Course Gala held at the DSG Aquatics Centre. These boys swam against the top Eastern Cape club swimmers from Port Elizabeth and East London and delivered some superb results.

Scott won a bronze medal for the 50-metre freestyle and Cameron set a new Personal Best time for the 50-metre breaststroke.

Joss set a new Personal Best time for the 200-metre Individual Medley and a Bronze medal for the 100-metre freestyle. He won three silver medals: the first for the 50-metre butterfly, the second for the 50-metre freestyle and the third for the 200-metre freestyle, in a new School Record time. He also won a Gold medal in the 100-metre butterfly.

Oliva swam a personal best time for the 100-metre freestyle and won a Silver medal for the 200-metre Individual Medley. He also set three new School Records: the first for the 100-metre Individual Medley – winning a Bronze medal, the second for the 50-metre breaststroke – winning a Gold medal and the third for the 100-metre breaststroke – winning a Gold medal.

Martin won two Silver medals: one for the 100-metre freestyle and the other for the 50-metre backstroke in a new School Record time. He also won Gold and set yet another new School Record for the 50-metre freestyle.
