C4C Running Wild Trail Run – 14 July 2019

Coaching for Conservation background notes:

Coaching for Conservation® (C4C) (www.coachingforconservation.org) has been delivering innovative conservation education in Botswana since 2004 with a primary mission to “Conserve natural resources by using sport to engender self respect and inspire a generation of kids who care”.   In response to a global call to help address the crisis facing rhino, Investec Rhino Lifeline partnered with Coaching for Conservation from 2013-2018 to apply their unique education model to the escalating concerns over rhino conservation and poaching in South Africa. C4C’s holistic curriculum promotes the connection of all living things through various animal mentors and promotes, above all – Respect for Self, Others and Respect for the Environment. The program focuses on youth living near protected areas, game reserves, and other areas that may be at risk of poaching.

Growing each year, the Coaching for Conservation has delivered a variety of programs to over 20,000 children in the Eastern cape. They offer their flagship 20 hour after school program targeted at Grade 5 learners, a Grade 6 booster program, a Grade 7 Wildlife walk and Rhino Ambassador program, a Rhino RAP (Rapid Awareness Program) that can be targeted at larger audiences, and their now signature BushRAP – a full day program that includes a day in a game reserve together with the RhinoRAP curriculum.

With the support from Amakhala Game Reserve, Harcourts, St Andrews College and the Diocesin School for Girls, C4C is delighted to be able to continue to deliver this globally recognized program to learners across the Eastern Cape.  We welcome the support of any other sponsors keen to become involved.

Following two successful years, C4C is hosting their third annual RUNNING WILD – Trail run. Run with wildlife for a reason!
