Rugby vs Queen’s College

On Saturday we travelled through to Queenstown for our annual derby against Queen’s College. The weather was warm and so was their hospitality.

The U14 age group fought well and managed to get a win in the B game. The U15s fared better, picking up wins in the As and Bs. The U15A team game was a tightly contested game with a scoreline of 26-22, this was a good win for our boys. The U16s also got two wins from three games. The As went down narrowly in their game. The U16Bs managed a big score with Dean van Heerden showing his strength and Ayo Akinbo showing his speed.

Our senior teams continued their winning ways with the 5ths, 4ths winning in the morning. William Hall showed some good touches before picking up an injury, Nic Francis and James Flower displayed their versatility playing in a number of positions. The 3rds and the 2nds had good wins on the ‘REC’ with Lilitha Lubengu sharing some memorable moments.

The firsts started off well scoring two early tries before the game slowed down. The boys won 39-10 in a scrappy affair. Buhle Matshaya had an excellent game scoring three really good tries.
