A group of 16 matric boys took part in the first Cooking Club lesson on Wednesday 2 May. This is the first ever cooking club to be established at St Andrew’s.
The cooking club it is for matrics only and it is aimed at giving them basic cooking skills to allow them to fend for themselves when they leave school and not only order take aways.
Teacher-in-charge of the Cooking Club, David Mackenzie said the first lesson went “exceedingly well”.
The pupils prepared brown rice with sundried tomato or basil pesto chicken and a fresh summer salad.
A total of 42 matric boys signed up for the Cooking Club.
