Classical Civilization meets Mathematics, Design and Practical Skills
The Grade 8 class was presented with a design and making task: construct a pyramid box. Limitations were set: no adhesives, no staples, and no sticky tape were to be used to keep the box together. Once the box was completed, it had to be able to hold 20 imperial Mints while the box was suspended, without the mints cascading from the container.
The class was provided with card, triangle dimensions and scrap paper, and lots of encouragement. The testing will be done on completion of the boxes!
