The College u14A, u15A and 1st teams headed to Port Elizabeth on the weekend to participate in the annual warm up fixtures against Selborne, Grey High School and Paul Roos. After only 1 week of training the teams acquitted themselves well and gained a lot of valuable experience and fitness from these crucial pre-season matches.
In their first match, the new look College 1st team, came up against a physical and skilful Selborne outfit. College led 4-1 after the end of the first chukka but Selborne, not to be out done, clawed their way back and took the lead 9-6 with 3 minutes remaining. The Blues did not give up and scored a quick fire 3 goals to draw the match 9-9. In their next 2 matches the first team beat Paul Roos 17-6 and lost 12-8 to Grey High.
It was a good effort by all boys involved and a thank you must go to Mr Hoefnagels and Mr Lucas-Bull for all their hard work.
