St Andrew’s College Cricket Round Up

St Andrew’s College Cricket Round Up

The College 1st XI lost by 26 runs vs. St John’s College, JHB. The team put in some solid performances in the first three days. Top order batsman Peter Jarvis (83 vs. Hilton) and David Rushmere (100 vs. St David’s) played superbly up front and leg spinner Simon Taylor continued his good form with another 10 wickets in the festival and was well supported by Ross Ferguson in the limited over matches. However the manner in which the team responded to batting pressures associated with a run chase was going to be the determining sign of a successful Gauteng Tour.

Unfortunately St Andrew’s College were unable to pull through on this occasion, but will continue to search for these pressure moments, prepare better and equip themselves to cope with these more challenging periods of the game in the future.

Thanks very much to St Alban’s College on hosting a fine weekend of cricket experience for all concerned.
