Over the half-term break eight College golfers took part in the inaugural North vs South Golf Challenge held over six well known courses down the Garden Route.
Sutherland High School from Centurion were the hosts of the competition, and they, along with Pecanwood College represented the North, whilst College were the sole representatives of the South.
In all 29 junior golfers took part and after six days of competition, it was very pleasing that all eight of the College golfers ended in the top 12. This was a remarkable achievement and easily the best result that a College team has produced since we have started going to such festivals.
Luke Birrell must be congratulated for making it through to the semi-finals of the Individual Matchplay competition, narrowly going down in a playoff to the eventual winner. Luke also finished second overall in the Individual Stableford competition, with Byron Sharwood fourth, Murray Koster fifth and Nicholas Poole sixth. Well done to all the players.
