Rugby vs Hudson Park

The last fixture of this half term took place on Saturday vs Hudson Park, with most of the A and B teams in action.
The 1st XV started off slowly and their first half performance seemed lethargic and disinterested despite a special individual try from College captain Tom Lane. As the half progressed Hudson had edged out a commanding 15 – 5 lead and College were battling to stamp their authority on the game despite a possession and territory advantage.

The second half was a totally different story as a new enthused 1st XV took to the field intent on converting their ascendency into points. Immediately College scored through Ross Ferguson and then Gordon Everard followed it up as Anthony Dakin’s conversion put College in the lead for the first time. In fact this pattern would continue throughout the half as College racked up a total of 45 points which included another five tries by Mathew Stopforth, Tim Bloem, Max Kieser, a second for Ross Ferguson and a try for Damon Evans. College emphatic second half display ensuring that they ran out deserved 50-22 winners on the day.
