The small cast of Metamorphosis have been hard at work rehearsing in preparation for their stage debut next Wednesday. They underwent a gruelling audition process and were selected not only for their acting skills but also for their ability to meet the physical demands of the play.
The play sees the combined talents of both the St Andrew’s College boys and DSG girls and has offered these actors the chance to delve deeper into a literary work, to deepen their understanding of the differing styles of expression as well as an opportunity to expand the repertoire of their performance skills.
The play is based on Franz Kafka’s “The Metamorphosis” and was adapted for stage by Steven Berkoff. Metamorphosis has been selected as part of the Fringe Programme at this year’s Grahamstown National Arts Festival.
