Old Andrean, Khudusela Pitje, returned to his alma mater as the guest of honour at the prestigious DB Wylde Leadership Indaba on Monday evening which was well attended by many members of the Grahamstown community.
Scholars Zak Schlebusch and Tessa Glynn led the session by encouraging Mr Pitje to share his business, and life experiences that have enabled him to become a successful entrepreneur and influential community leader.
Khudusela matriculated from St Andrew’s College in 1993 and, after gaining valuable experience at several leading corporate institutions including MacDonald’s, PWC and J P Morgan, he successfully established a number of businesses in the fields of waste management, ICT and energy creation.
Khudusela is very mindful of the community in which he lives and supports many community based businesses and initiatives. He is passionate about job creation in South Africa as the solution to national economic development. Through a foundation established in memory of his father, HM Pitje, the Pitje family provides significant support for scholars from Mamelodi and Soshanguve. The Foundation has pledged support for scholars from these areas to attend school at St Andrew’s College and DSG in the future.
