We have pleasure in summarising the results below:
• All the candidates passed the examination with a BD pass (100%) which makes them eligible to study for a degree course at university.
• The boys achieved a total of 144 subject distinctions.
• 65% of the boys got one or more subject distinctions.
• 21% of all the subject results were above 80%, 57% above 70%, and 81% of the results were
above 60%.
• Special mention should be made of the following departments:
o Accounting, in which a quarter of the boys achieved above 80%.
o Dramatic Arts, in which 10 of the 22 boys achieved an “A”.
o Geography, in which 22% of the boys achieved above 80%.
o isiXhosa FAL, in which 35% of the 20 boys achieved an “A”.
o Life Orientation, in which 37% of the boys achieved distinctions.
o Mathematics, in which 28% of the boys achieved an “A”.
o Mathematical Literacy, in which two in three boys achieved distinctions.

We also congratulate the following boys who were placed in the top 1% of all the candidates nationally who wrote these subjects:
•Benjamin Stijkel for Accounting
•Jonathan Jayes for Dramatic Art
•James Lake for Mathematics
While we salute the top candidates, the entire group is to be commended, as many of these boys achieved the best examination results of their school careers.
The excellent results reflect the hard work of the candidates and the dedication of the teachers at both the DSG and College.
