St Andrew’s College Pipe Band
Date : 22nd March 2011



The St Andrew's College Pipe Band participated in the Highlands Gathering in Port Elizabeth on Sunday 20 March 2011.  

Our pipers competed in many solo events and the Band took part in the: 

The March Selection in which St. Andrew's was placed 2nd 

and

The March Strathspey and Reel in which we were placed 3rd

The band were placed 3rd overall in the competition. 

The drum corps performed well and were awarded the Arthur Floating Trophy for the best drum corps in the Eastern Cape.

In the Solo events Richard Tyson, Justin Kingwill and Duncan Ralston achieved top three placements. 

Justin came 3rd in the Novice Slow March and 3rd in the Novice March. 

Richard came 2nd in the Novice March, the Novice Slow March, and the Novice Strathspey &Reel. He was also placed 3rd in under-21 Strathspey & Reel. 

Duncan was placed 3rd in the Under-21 March, and the under-21 Slow March. 2nd in the under-21 Jig & Horn Pipe and 1st in the Novice March, the Novice Slow March and the Novice Strathpey & Reel. 

Many thanks to Mr. Chris Terry and Mr. Ross Hoole who helped tune and prepare the band. Thanks also to the parents and staff for their support.
