Cricket Honours Citation – James Price:
In 2007 James was selected to represent the Eastern Province Under 15 side. At the end of the same year he played for the College 1st XI as a Grade 9, proving that he was by no means out of his depth at this level.
From 2008-2010 James continued to play for the 1st XI, scoring well over 1800 runs as well as taking over 70 wickets, being awarded School Colours for all three years.
In 2009 James represented the Eastern Province Coke Week side and the Eastern Province Under 19 side for the 3-day competition. He was selected to attend both Regional and National Under 17 Training Camps during the year, proving that he was a respected cricketer throughout the country.
In 2010 he represented the Warriors Cubs and was selected for the South African Schools Under 19 side to tour Zimbabwe in July. In both of these competitions he produced performances of the highest quality, enhancing his reputation as a cricketer.
James has always been a pleasure to have in the cricket club; he has shown great determination in coming back from a number of serious injuries over the past three years, has had to work extremely hard at his game and finishes his school career as one of the premier schoolboy cricketers in the country. I believe that he is a very worthy recipient of Cricket Honours.
Cricket Honours Citation – Ryan Dugmore
In 2007 Ryan was selected to represent the Eastern Province Under 15 side. At the end of the same year he played for the College 1st XI as a Grade 9, proving that he belonged at this level and that he was by no means out of his depth.
From 2008-2010 Ryan continued to play for the 1st XI, scoring in excess of 1600 runs at a very healthy average and taking over 140 wickets. He was awarded Colours for all three years and was also selected as Captain of the 1st XI for both 2009 and 2010.
In 2009, Ryan was chosen to represent the Eastern Province Under 19 side, as well as the Eastern Province Under 17 side, where he was appointed Captain. He excelled at the Under 17 tournament and was then appointed as Captain of the Warriors Cubs side at the start of 2010. He has attended various Training Camps during the year and is highly regarded throughout the country.
It has always been a pleasure to work with Ryan; he is an extremely talented, committed and determined young man with exceptional on-field leadership skills. I have no doubt that much of what the 1st XI have achieved over the past two years can be put down to the manner in which he has led the team. Having seen many schoolboy cricketers from all around the country over the past 5 years, Ryan is certainly right up there with the best and is a very worthy recipient of Cricket Honours.
