1st XV vs Selborne College (39 - 7):
The game against Selborne College on Saturday did not catch the faithful followers unawares. Selborne produced their expected physical and direct approach, while the St Andrew's College defense manned up at the break down and then their attack moved the ball around when they had the opportunity. The set pieces were once again great platforms for attack and this along with good control at the tackle area allowed for good fluidity between backs and forwards and as such the ball was moved more freely than in the last few weeks. A good use of the boot by the half backs at critical times also meant that the 1st XV was playing to space and keeping the big Selborne pack moving throughout the game. Despite leaving a few scoring opportunities out on the field the 1st XV can be very pleased with a good end to the first half of the domestic season.  H.Searle
