James Price SA U19 tour to Zimbabwe:
James Price recently returned from a very successful tour of Zimbabwe. His match winning performances for the St Andrew’s College 1st X1 and Eastern Province over the past 2 years earned him a position as a front line batter and bowler for the SA U19 Team. In the 3rd 50 over fixture he gained some momentum on the tour with a match changing 39 off 30 balls, but was still in search of the “big knock” to make his mark on the tour. The pitches in Zimbabwe as expected were a little on the slow side and boundary hitting needed an attentive eye.
The big knock arrived in the 4th match smashing 135 of 81 balls. James Price carried this momentum into the 20/20 fixtures entertaining his team-mates with some distance hitting in his knocks of 81(43) and 98*(54). James came away from the tour with an improved awareness on what is required to be a travelling professional cricketer, and gained valuable experience from his firm coach, Ray Jennings.
