NEC ASPERA TERRENT . EMBRACING NEW FRONTIERS
A good start to the rugby season
Date : 26th March 2009

With a very young pack of forwards, St Andrew’s College 1ST XV took on Brandwag 1ST XV, who have a good strong pack. This was visiable in the first half as College hardly had any possession. Brandwag used their pack of forwards very effectively, keeping the ball close to them, they dominated the contact area very well. Lucky for College they could not use this possession effectively and could not convert this into point and College managed to get the ball three times in broken play and scored three times.

As the match progressed, the Brandwag forwards could not contest at the breakdown. College had far more possession.

Numerous handling errors and poor decision making prevented College of scoring more tries. St Andrew’s managed to run in with four tries to the one by Brandwag.

Lots of positives could be taken out of this match, but there is lots of room for improvement.

In all it was a good day at the office for College.

Final score: SAC 26, Brandwag 11

Tries: James Price, Nick Mills (2) and Eddy Torr.

Conversions: James Price (3)
