Dear Parents

Rugby Team Lists  Hockey Team Lists  Fear of Failure  Sports Performance Vision

Last weekend we were treated to a beautiful autumn day at Cambridge in East London. It was good to see the hive of activity on the Cambridge campus with both DSG and ourselves in action. A largely successful and well-hosted day at Cambridge was tempered by both the 1st XI and 1st XV going down to Cambridge on the day. Both teams will reflect on their match and know that a plethora of errors and a lack of finishing cost them dearly. For the rest there were plenty of good results and some good rugby and hockey played.

A number of boys took part in the EP Duathlon Championships last Sunday and enjoyed considerable success. All six boys were selected for their respective teams to take part in the SA Champs in Worcester in June. Age 18/19 Marcel Bovijn and Mat Archer, Age 16/17 Dylan Ramsay, Richard Simpson, Richard And Matt Danckwerts. Well done to these boys.

20 College golfers played in Port Alfred last Sunday in a competition involving Kingswood College and Port Alfred HS. The College team were clear winners, with Charl Pellissier returning the best round of the day.

Last Sunday also saw a number of boys taking part in both EP squash and hockey trials and the final rounds of these take place this Sunday. We also have two boys taking part in both the EP U18 and U16 rugby trials this weekend. We wish all these boys the very best.

On Wednesday the 2nd XI, U16A and U14A teams played Victoria Park, all recording wins. The 1st XI encounter takes place this afternoon at 16h00 on Webster. Tomorrow the 1st XI, U16A and U14A travel to PE to take on Westering HS. You are referred to these two websites to follow the fortunes of the Hockey Club. Fixtures, match reports and results are recorded here. http://www.sacschool.com/241/upcoming-sport-fixtures-&-team-lists.html and http://www.sacschool.com/76/hockey.html

As stated in my email earlier, the Rugby Club take on Daniel Pienaar tomorrow in Grahamstown, with the exception of the 1st XV and U16A teams. This is due to the EP Trials happening over this weekend and Daniel Pienaar having a host of their boys involved. The 2nd XV game will kick off at 14h15 on Lower.

Your attention is drawn to the invitation next weekend for any parents who may be in PE on the Friday night of the Grey weekend to get together on the beach front. See attached.

I also draw your attention to the attached sports psychology articles that have gone out to the boys this week.

I trust that you will all have a great weekend!

Kind regards

Pete
