It has been very special to return to the Eastern Cape and more specifically to College having attended school here; that is after spending over ten years working for a market research company in both Durban and Johannesburg before taking a year off to complete a post graduate certificate in education. Since then I enjoyed four years teaching Economics and coaching sport at private schools in Natal before joining College in 2008 to teach Business Studies.

Lisa and I have two children Luke and Kelly who are both very happy at Prep. As a family we enjoy outdoor activities, sport and visiting the nature parks when ever possible; birding is also a passion of ours. In our holidays we also try and visit the Graaff-Reinet area regularly where my parents live and my two brothers farm. My parents and brothers all have close links to the College community, my mother having been at DSG and my father and brothers being Old Andreans.

I thoroughly enjoy coaching sport and I am currently involved in coaching cricket in summer and hockey in the winter. I also try and fit in the odd game of social hockey and golf when possible.
Being part of the Espin is a real privilege and we as a family will be doing our utmost to create an environment in which Espin boys are encouraged to develop personal and common responsibility and accountability in order to ensure the spiritual and social well being of the House; a place where boys can feel confident and at home.

2009 Matric Mission Statements for Espin

"To be the house that leads through example, unity, motivation and hard work"
"The house that stands unified through hard work, friendship and respect."
